Which colour is better?
Green photographs louder and reads as a mantis instantly. Khaki looks more like a dry-season one and sits better against wood and neutral shelves.
Are the legs wired?
No. Soft-filled, so they splay and hold a loose position. The forelegs stay up because of how they're sewn, not because of wire.
Does it stand on its own?
Yes, on four rear legs, with the forelegs raised. It's stable on a flat shelf.
Can it survive being handled a lot?
The body and legs, yes. The antennae are the thinnest part and will bend if you're rough with them.
